Case Study # 1 is a large general contractor on the East Coast that provides construction, construction management, project development, and engineering services.
AWMS was asked to provide transportation and disposal services for 150,000 tons of non-hazardous waste.
· AWMS was able to source recycling facilities that could accept the material, therefore avoiding landfilling as well as the landfill taxes and fees, a huge reduction in exposure and cost. AWMS managed all of the transportation and disposal scheduling of this project.
· The project’s aggressive schedule required AWMS to move approximately 3000 tons per day, meaning AWMS was scheduling up to 150 trucks per day.
· This project was complex, considering AWMS was providing all of the shipping documents to the site for the transporters as well as coordinating the receiving schedule at the recycling facility.
· AWMS received electronic daily reports from the facility, which were used to prepare reports for the customer as well as billing.
